This is a critical PSA for anyone using Google Antigravity OAuth or Gemini CLI authentication with OpenClaw.

What's Happening

Google has started permanently banning accounts that authenticate OpenClaw using Google Antigravity OAuth or Gemini CLI credentials. This is affecting users across the community, and the bans appear to be permanent with no clear path to restoration.

The Error Messages

If you're affected, you might see:

Gemini CLI:

Failed to login. Message: Gemini has been disabled in this account for violation of Terms of Service. If you believe this is an error, please contact Google Cloud Support, or email gemini-code-assist-user-feedback@google.com.

Antigravity OAuth:

There was an unexpected issue setting up your account. Please try again later.

Who's Affected

This appears to be a Terms of Service enforcement action by Google targeting third-party clients. Multiple users have reported permanent bans, including:

  • Personal Google accounts
  • Work/Workspace accounts
  • Accounts that only briefly used these authentication methods

The community has been documenting cases on Reddit and Google's developer forums.

What You Should Do

1. If you haven't used these auth methods yet:

  • Do NOT authenticate OpenClaw with Antigravity OAuth or Gemini CLI
  • Use alternative providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, local models, etc.)

2. If you're currently using these methods:

  • Consider switching to alternative authentication immediately
  • Be aware your account may already be flagged

3. If you've been banned:

  • Try contacting Google Cloud Support
  • Email gemini-code-assist-user-feedback@google.com
  • Document your case for the community

Alternative Authentication Options

OpenClaw supports many providers that don't carry this risk:

  • Anthropic (Claude models)
  • OpenAI (GPT models via official API)
  • Ollama (local models)
  • OpenRouter (many models, single API)
  • Fireworks, Together, Groq (various hosted models)

The Community Response

There's an active discussion on GitHub (issue #14203) where users are documenting their experiences. The maintainers have been asked to consider disabling these authentication methods by default to protect new users.

Why This Matters

This isn't just about losing access to Gemini—it's about potentially losing your entire Google account, including:

  • Gmail
  • Google Drive files
  • Google Photos
  • Calendar data
  • YouTube account
  • Everything tied to that Google identity

Stay safe out there. If you have experiences to share or updates on this situation, drop them in the comments or on the GitHub issue.
